SINCE 1723

Classic Quarters 4

The fourth bedroom in the Classic Quarter building is situated on the upper floor, sharing a communal lounge area with one other bedroom. While offering a picturesque mountain view from the window, it’s important to note that this room is built in the roof area of the thatched building and may not be entirely suitable for very tall guests. Despite this, the room provides amenities for comfort and convenience, including air-conditioner, complimentary coffee and tea facilities, a TV with a selected DSTV package, and unlimited internet access. The open-plan layout features a beautiful Victorian bathtub with a hand-held shower and an en-suite toilet. Guests can rest on a king-size bed, which can also be arranged as single beds if desired, making it suitable for sharing with family or friends. With its blend of comfort and charm, this room offers a relaxing retreat amidst the natural beauty of Jan Harmsgat Farm.

Something about

Interesting to Know

The original wine cellar and old slave quarters at Jan Harmsgat Farm were initially retained, although the thatch roofs were replaced by corrugated iron at some point. However, these roofs have since been restored to their original thatched form, which is how the buildings exist today. This restoration honors the historical integrity of the structures while preserving their traditional Cape Dutch charm.
