Classic Quarters 3

Room 3, situated on the upper floor of our Classic Quarter building, shares a communal lounge area with one other bedroom also located on the upped level. Please note that this room may not be completely suited for very tall guests, as it is essentially built into the roof of the thatched building. The room features an open-plan layout with a beautiful Victorian bathtub equipped with a hand-held shower, along with bathrobes, towels, and slippers provided for added comfort. The room is furnished with a king-size bed, which can also be arranged as single beds if desired, making it suitable for sharing with family or friends. Additionally, an en-suite toilet is available for guests’ convenience.

Something about

Interesting to Know

Hermanus Steyn lies buried on the farm Jan Harmsgat in a small plot marked by a granite gravestone, which can be seen a few hundred meters from the main house. A grandson of the old President, Gideon van Zyl, changed the name of the farm to the gentler name of Nooitgedacht. The old building with its three gables under thatch, was again changed by a cousin, one Piet van Eeden. He removed the upper floors and rebuilt the house with a corrugated iron roof.
